Aspen, Colorado – July 13, 2017– The City of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Conservancy are hosting Aspen’s first Rain Barrel Workshop to guide residents on how to install, maintain, and use a rain barrel to collect water for irrigation. The workshop will be held on July 25, 2017 in Aspen Council Chambers from 1:30-3:30pm. The cost is $40 and includes one rain barrel a with a limit of one per household. Class information will include navigating Colorado’s new law and watershed protection. Last year the state of Colorado passed a bill allowing the collection of up to 110 gallons of precipitation from residential rooftops for outdoor use. Register by July 17 at www.roaringfork.org. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win a rain barrel painted by a local artist.
