The City of Aspen is committed to engaging our entire community in energy awareness through online information, community events, local schools, and billing inserts. The Utilities Energy Efficiency Division offers many programs and opportunities that can help you reduce your energy consumption, lower your utility bills, become more energy efficient, and put money back in your pockets.

It Starts at Home:  Aspen’s energy efficiency starts in our homes. Statistics on energy consumption and suggestions for areas of home improvement can be found here.


Rebates & Incentives: Utility service providers in Colorado offer a variety of appliance rebates and incentives. All rebates and incentives available for energy efficiency measures and renewable energy systems can be found here.


Energy Star:This is a nationally-recognized organization known best for its efficiency standards with appliances, electronics, and home energy systems.


BPI and Energy Auditing: All of the information you need to know about an energy audit including the costs and benefits is outlined here. Scheduling an energy audit requires one quick, easy step!


DIY Tutorials:The do-it-yourself tutorials provide simple, easy steps to home energy efficiency improvements.


CFLs: We have a CFL fact sheet available as well as suggestions for buying the right brand, style, and wattage for your CFLs.


Billing Inserts: Aspen Electric and Water customers receive monthly billing inserts with their utility bills. These inserts provide energy-saving tips, suggest energy efficient appliances, and inform our customers of upcoming events and breaking news.


Outreach & Education: We are involved with other programs such as Living Wise with 5th Graders, Aspen’s Saturday Market, and much more.
