|Ann Mullins - City Council Member|
City Council in 2013

I have worked as a Landscape Architect/Urban Designer for 30 years. My favorite part about serving on Council is all the people I get to meet and interact with and the challenge of understanding all the different systems that keep the city running and healthy. Aspen is my home because I ride my bike all winter and spend most of my time outdoors.

|Shirley Ritter - Kids First Director, Kids First|
|firstname.lastname@example.org | (970) 920-5370|
I have worked in the early childhood education field for over 35 years, I am passionate about giving all our children a great start in life as a foundation for future learning and success in life. I feel so fortunate that the citizens of Aspen voted for a sales tax that supports young children and their families, and that I get to do the great work we are able to do! I think the best thing about working for the city is the team of people I get to work with; there is more commitment and investment than most people get to experience in their work. I’ve lived with my family in Aspen for 30 years. The best thing about living in Aspen is much the same, I came for the outdoors, the great school system, and opportunities; and I stayed because of the people that make this place special!
A quote I have liked for a long time comes from Maya Angelou – “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”

Any number of past and current City employees have noted that the complexity of local government in Aspen makes it feel a lot like graduate school. This constantly changing and challenging environment keeps me on my toes and makes the job interesting.

I am a Civil and Environmental Engineer by training. I hold a B.S. in Forest Engineering, Registered Professional engineer, registered Project management professional and certified floodplain manager. Member of Mountain Rescue Aspen.
There are many careers in civil engineering but working for a local government provides a unique opportunity to be able to make a visible difference in our community every day. Aspen’s progressive citizens also allow us to work at the cutting edge of the industry even in a small mountain town. Being able to serve a community I love while being continually challenged professionally; what better work life balance can you ask for!
